Daria Herashchenko (b.2004) was born and raised in Ukraine, where, since early childhood, she was involved in the life of her art school and community, attending painting contests, model sessions, and exhibiting her own work. Influenced by the works of artists like Gustav Klimt, Daria finds inspiration in figurative imagery and the intimacy of human connection, incorporating these elements into her work.

After the start of the war in 2022, Daria relocated to Halifax, Canada, where she is pursuing her BFA at NSCAD University. Her work is often featured in group showcases, such as Shaped & Shifted, Scraps, and A Painting Show, among others.

In 2024, Daria was nominated for the Student Art Award in Drawing, with her work, Dissolving, serving as a point of departure for her current art practice, which explores transforming figures, dreamlike spaces, and the tension between intimacy and distance. Using oil and pastel on a large canvas, Daria continues to experiment with themes of love and ambiguity as she prepares for her solo exhibition in 2026.
